wrote to Israeli President Isaac Herzog to request the Prime Minister

pardoned from the corruption case that ensnared him.
In a letter distributed by Herzog’s office on Wednesday (12/11), Trump said Netanyahu was a tough and firm prime minister who had led the Zionist country in times of war.Therefore, he asked Herzog to “pardon” Netanyahu from the “unjustified” case.

“As Israel and its extraordinary Jewish people have weathered terrible times over the past three years, I hereby ask you to completely forgive Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been a tough and resolute Wartime Prime Minister,” Trump wrote.
Trump said Netanyahu is currently bringing Israel to a time of peace, including by expanding the Abraham Accords agreement to other countries.The Abraham Accords are an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries, which have been signed by the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco.
Apart from that, Trump also said that Netanyahu had been fighting with him in facing Iran and the Palestinian Hamas militia group.
In line with that, he asked Herzog to forgive and free his ally from the case that was currently ensnaring him.
“Now that we have achieved unprecedented success and are able to control Hamas, it is time to let Bibi (Netanyahu’s nickname) unite Israel by pardoning him and ending the case once and for all,” Trump said.
Netanyahu is currently facing trial for alleged corruption.He and his wife are accused of accepting lavish gifts worth more than 700,000 shekels from businessmen in exchange for political favors.
Netanyahu also faces two other cases involving accusations that he attempted to influence media coverage in his favor.
Herzog’s office said anyone seeking a presidential pardon must submit a formal request in accordance with applicable procedures, Reuters reported.
