Donald Trump
plans to increase the number of countries whose citizens are prohibited from entering
United States
up to 32 countries.
This step was taken amidst Trump’s efforts to continue to tighten US immigration and limit immigrants living in Uncle Sam’s country.

Since last June, the US has blacklisted 12 countries and restricted entry to the US by citizens of seven other countries.In an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday (4/12), US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said her government would expand the list of countries to 32.
“If they don’t have a stable government, can’t survive and ensure the identity of their citizens and can’t help us vet them, then why should we let their citizens into the US?”Noem said, as quoted

However, Noem did not mention which countries would be added to the US travel ban list.
The ban, Noem said, aims to protect against “foreign terrorists” and other security threats and applies to both immigrants and non-immigrants, such as tourists, students and business travelers.

previously reported the Trump administration was considering banning citizens from 36 additional countries from entering the US, according to an internal State Department cable.
Expanding the list would be a step in tightening immigration policies since the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., last week.
Local investigators said the shooter was an Afghan who entered the US in 2021 through a resettlement program that Trump administration officials said did not go through an adequate vetting process.
Days after the incident, Trump promised to “permanently stop” migration from all “Third World countries.”
Although he did not name or explain which countries he meant by “Third World.”
Last June, Trump released a list of citizens from 12 countries who were prohibited from entering the US.These dozens of countries consist of:

6. Eritrea
7. Haiti
8. Iran
9. Libya
10. Somalia
