“Today we sent a clear message that we will never give in to blackmail,” Trump said before signing the bill, to applause from Republicans gathered around him in the Oval Office.

Previously, the US House of Representatives passed a funding bill to end the government shutdown on the same day before being handed over to Trump for signature.
