The fight to buy Warner Bros.Discovery heats up after President

Because last week, Netflix announced a deal worth US$72 billion dollars (around Rp. 1,200 trillion) to buy most of Warner Bros.Discovery.Typically, such decisions are beyond White House interference.
The next morning, rival company Paramount made a forced takeover bid against Warner Bros.
Discovery, due to Netflix’s “difficult regulatory approval process” to get the deal approved.However, Trump did not take sides when asked about the development hours later.

Despite claiming he is not his friend, Trump is close to billionaire Larry Ellison, father of David Ellison who became CEO of Paramount this year through a merger with Skydance Media.
A senior White House official said Ellison and Trump had discussed the possibility of Paramount taking over Warner Bros.Discovery.
Meanwhile, Trump called Netflix co-chairman Ted Sarandos a “great man” after a private meeting in the Oval Office last week.
Netflix’s bid to buy Warner Bros.Discovery only includes studios and streaming services, excluding cable channels such as

“He’s done one of the best jobs in film history and beyond, and there’s a lot of interesting things going on besides what you guys are talking about,” Trump said.
According to one source, Trump’s admiration for Sarandos was greater in private, especially for Sarandos’ ability to “transform Netflix.”
However, at the same event, Trump expressed doubt about Netflix’s plan to buy Warner Bros.He said Sarandos was “an extraordinary figure who I respect, but it’s a big market share.”
This situation creates a complex web of interests for companies competing to influence the process.
Typically, antitrust decisions on major deals are made by the Justice Department without political interference.
White House officials said Trump appeared neutral, and his views changed depending on who he last spoke with.
“They have a huge market share. And when they had Warner Bros., that share increased a lot,” Trump said when he arrived at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday (7/12).
“I don’t know. That will be determined by economists and I will also be involved in that decision,” he added.
