those familiar with the new deal on Ukraine said the latest US proposal was much better than the previous version.
One of the points that changed was the provision that Ukraine could maintain 800 thousand troops.In the previous draft, Ukrainian troops were limited to 600 thousand people.
“Ukraine, the US and Europe have made the US proposal workable,” he said.
“This agreement has changed significantly for the better,” the source said.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron said Russia had not shown a willingness to ceasefire with Ukraine.He concluded this from the meeting of the US, Ukraine and Europe in Geneva last week.
“It is clear that there is no Russian will to agree to a ceasefire today,” Macron said.
He also suggested applying continuous pressure to Russia to agree to peace.Macron also supports removing restrictions on the number of Ukrainian troops to prevent another Russian attack.
