requesting the disbursement of assistance similar to direct cash assistance (BLT) in the midst of the shutdown or suspension of operations of the United States government which is entering its 5th week.
The request was aimed at Senate Republicans and was announced by Trump on his social media, Truth Social, on Saturday (8/11).He asked that the budget allocated for insurance companies be sent directly to the people.

Some observers say the centerpiece of Trump’s plan would be to eliminate requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as ObamaCare, and require insurance companies to cover patients with pre-existing conditions.
The proposal was welcomed by Republican Senators Lindsey Graham, Rick Scott, and Bill Cassidy.They view subsidies as needing to be replaced with health savings accounts.
Graham praised Trump’s proposal as a “brilliant” move.
“We will replace this broken system with something that is truly better for consumers,” he said, quoted by The Guardian.
In another post on the same day, Trump also urged the repeal of the filibuster or the Senate rule that requires 60 out of 100 member votes to pass legislation.
In the Senate, Republicans hold 53 seats, Democrats 45, and two independent senators are in coalition with them.
Trump did not provide any further details regarding assistance similar to BLT.The White House has not yet provided an official statement or comment regarding this matter.
Trump’s post came a day after Senate Republicans rejected a Democratic proposal that called for the shutdown to end in exchange for certain benefits.
In that proposal, Democrats asked for a vote on the ACA, which is also related to Obama Care, in exchange for ending the government shutdown.
Republicans and Democrats are involved in an elitist political conflict which actually has an impact on the people.Republicans are persistent in asking for the funding bill to pass without conditions, but Democrats are refusing.
Republicans, under the Trump administration, then implemented a government shutdown.Democrats are willing to end the shutdown – in which case perhaps voting on a funding bill – if the Senate holds a vote on the ACA.
However, this proposal was not welcomed.Senate majority leader John Thune called the Democrats’ idea impossible.
