DKI Jakarta Transportation Department
preparing a number of traffic management and engineering measures to anticipate increased community mobility in several tourist destinations during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays starting today, Thursday (25/12).
“For traffic control, of course because this is related to Christmas and New Year, we are anticipating tourist areas in Jakarta,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo to media crew at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, East Jakarta, last Tuesday (23/12).
These arrangements are focused on tourist areas that are expected to experience a surge in visitors.

Syafrin said that traffic arrangements would be carried out situationally by looking at developments in conditions on the ground.
DKI’s main tourist destination
A number of main tourist destinations in Jakarta are of particular concern, such as Ragunan Wildlife Park, National Monument (Monas), Ancol, Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and the Kota Tua area.
“The arrangements are situational, including the possibility of closing or diverting traffic flow by looking at developments in the field,” said Syafrin.
In the Ragunan Wildlife Park area, for example, the DKI Transportation Agency will implement traffic engineering in the form of a one-way system if there is a density of vehicles, especially in the morning.
This engineering was carried out to facilitate the flow of vehicles to tourist locations.
“For example, for Ragunan, if there is congestion in the morning, we usually set a one-way system to enter Ragunan Park. From TB Simatupang there will be a one-way route to Ragunan,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon when the flow of returning visitors increases, the DKI Transportation Agency will implement a one-way system from Ragunan Park towards the north.
With this scheme, vehicles are directed to enter TB Simatupang so that traffic flow remains smoother and there are no build-ups.
“In the afternoon, from Ragunan Park to the north there will be one-way traffic, so that entering TB Simatupang will be easier and smoother,” he said.
Similar arrangements will also be implemented in other tourist areas in Jakarta, adjusting to regional characteristics and vehicle density conditions.
Syafrin confirmed that officers would be alerted in the field to carry out direct traffic control.
Apart from regulating traffic, Syafrin also conveyed an appeal to the public who would take advantage of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays.
Syafrin reminded the public to continue to prioritize safety, considering that currently there is the potential for extreme weather due to cyclonic storms and the risk of hydrometeorological disasters.
“We advise the public that because currently we are also facing cyclonic storms, the potential for hydrometeorological disasters is quite high. Therefore, during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the public is advised to prioritize safety,” he said.
Syafrin asked the public to always monitor weather forecast information provided by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) before and during their trip.
He also reminded road users to adjust their journey to weather conditions that have the potential to change at any time.
“Make sure you have seen the weather forecast from BMKG and on your way adjust to the situation and conditions that have the potential to occur according to the weather forecast,” he said.
