“Of course this data will continue to develop, because there are still points that cannot be penetrated because they are still in the process of being handled. It is indicated that in places where landslides cannot be penetrated, there may be casualties,” said Suharyanto in a press conference broadcast on the BNPB’s YouTube account.
Suharyanto said that in the Aceh region, the number of victims who died due to floods and landslides was 35 people. Then 25 other people are still missing.
Then in West Sumatra, said Suharyanto, 23 people died. Then 12 other people are still being searched for.
“These three provinces have relatively large disasters, even though compared to North Sumatra Aceh, yes, this Sumatra is relatively lighter, but that doesn’t mean it’s lighter compared to North Sumatra Aceh,” he said.
“But when compared to the scale of the disaster in West Sumatra alone, it is very large and massive,” added the three-star TNI AD general.
