village
in two sub-districts affected by the eruption
Mount Semeru

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that the three affected villages were all in the Lumajang Regency area.
“The villages are Supit Urang Village and Oro-Oro Ombo Village in Pronojiwo District, and Penanggal Village in Candipuro District,” said in his statement, Wednesday (19/11).

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), assisted by related elements, has evacuated residents to refugee camps.
Based on temporary data, it was recorded that as many as 300 residents were temporarily displaced in two places.The evacuation posts are spread across several places, including Oro-oro Ombo Village Hall with around 200 people and SD 2 Supiturang with 100 people.
“Apart from that, a number of residents were evacuated to the Penanggal Village Hall. However, the BPBD is still collecting data in the field,” said Muhari.
In the aftermath of the eruption, the Lumajang Regency Government will declare an emergency response status for 7 days, starting from 19 November to 26 November 2025. It is hoped that the command post will be immediately activated and emergency management of the disaster can run effectively.
Mount Semeru experienced an eruption on Wednesday (19/11).The flow of hot clouds was recorded to have reached 14 kilometers and the material had passed the Gladak Perak bridge.As a result of this increase in activity, the status of Mount Semeru was raised from Alert level to Warning level.
“At 17.00 WIB, Mount Semeru’s Activity Level increased from Level III or Alert to Level IV Warning,” said Head of the East Java BPBD Emergency and Logistics Division, Satriyo Nurseno.
