This Hezbollah commander was killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut at the weekend.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) describes Tabtabai as the second key figure after Secretary General Nail Qassem.
“He was part of Hezbollah’s senior leadership and because of his connections and abilities, he served as a significant source of knowledge and influence within Hezbollah,” the IDF said, citing

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said the operation was aimed at thwarting Tabtabai’s plans to strengthen Hezbollah’s military capabilities.
The attack came amid a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel agreed more than a year ago.The attack also killed five civilians and thousands of other people.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack.He stated that such actions showed Israel’s indifference to stopping attacks on Lebanon.
Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire by continuing to attack Lebanon and using the pretext of destroying Hezbollah’s infrastructure.
