with a 0-8 defeat to Thailand in the first Group A match at Chonburi Stadium, Thursday (4/12).
After the match, coach Akira Higashiyama assessed that his team had tried to perform optimally, but had to recognize the quality of their opponents.
“Thailand is a very strong team. We tried our best, but still lost. This is the reality, and we have to accept this result,” said Akira, quoted by Kitagaruda.

Even though these results are far from expectations, Indonesia still has the opportunity to continue to the next phase.The Garuda Pertiwi squad will determine their fate in the second match against Singapore, Sunday (7/12).
Regarding preparations for the match, Akira emphasized that the team remained focused and tried to maximize recovery and evaluation time.
“Currently our situation is quite difficult, but if we can win against Singapore, we can still qualify. So we will try our best,” he said.
Akira also gave a special message to the supporters who will continue to accompany the women’s national team at this year’s SEA Games.
“A defeat is still a defeat, this is my responsibility. But we still have two days until the next match. I will try my best, with prayer, and we want to give victory to the Indonesian fans,” said Akira.
