) Basuki Hadimuljono said the vice president’s office was in
IKN
completed at the end of this year.
“It will be finished at the end of December, all we have to do is fill in the furniture,” said Basuki at UGM, Sleman, DIY, Friday (12/12).
Apart from the office, the residence of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia and the State Mosque, which are entering the first phase of construction, will be completed by the Ministry of Public Works (PU) this December.

Overall, for Phase 1 work (2022-2024) which focuses on building basic infrastructure and Central Government Core Areas (KIPP) such as the Presidential Palace, ceremonial grounds, ministry buildings, as well as providing clean water and toll roads, progress has reached 97 percent.
“The toll road from Balikpapan to IKN will, God willing, start to be functional at the end of this month,” he added.
Throughout 2025, OIKN has prepared everything related to the construction of KIPP in order to prepare IKN to become the political capital in 2028, in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 79 of 2025.
This December, OIKN has started construction of legislative and judicial offices and road infrastructure in areas 1A (northern), 1B (central) and 1C (southern).This is included in Phase 2 work (2025-2029).
“God willing, by the end of 2027 or semester 1 of 2028 we will be able to see the final results (legislative and judicial),” he hoped.
OIKN itself proposed a budget requirement of IDR 21.18 trillion for 2026 for the second phase of construction of the IKN which also includes work on ASN/TNI/Polri housing, and other supporting infrastructure.However, the temporary budget ceiling approved was only IDR 6.2 trillion.
“(In) 2026, the DIPA which has not yet been submitted, will only be submitted later, after the President returns from abroad later. We initially had around six (trillion) in DIPA, but later there will be an additional 14 (trillion), so around 20 (trillion),” he concluded.
Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Rifqinizami Karsayuda, admitted that he heard information that said Vice President Gibran Rakabuming would start working at IKN starting in 2026.
Rifqi conveyed this in a working meeting at Commission II of the DPR which was also attended by the Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono, Tuesday (15/11).
Rifqi believes that the deputy ministers should also follow these steps.
“I heard that the Vice President wants to start working at IKN in 2026. And because of that, some of his deputy ministers should also join. Because the vice president, the deputy ministers, should also move to IKN,” said Rifqi at the meeting.
