Janice, who competed in the women’s doubles with Aldila Sutjiadi, performed strongly at the National Tennis Development Center, Bangkok, Friday (19/12).
Indonesia’s top women’s doubles team successfully dominated the game and defeated the host representatives, Thailand, Peangtarn Plipuech/Mananchaya Sawangkaew with a convincing score of 6-2, 6-1.

This is a fantastic achievement for Aldila/Janice, who had health problems.Janice even withdrew from the women’s singles semifinals due to health problems.
“I certainly feel very happy to be able to win today and show a good performance. We are grateful to be able to close the SEA Games this time with a gold medal. Moreover, previously we fell ill after the team round, but were able to recover gradually,” said Janice in the official NOC release.
Even though the final score looked impressive, Janice wasn’t happy.He emphasized that the match on the field was tighter than reflected on the scoreboard.
“The score is 6-2, 6-1, but the actual match is much tighter. We already understand the strengths and weaknesses of our opponents, especially before we met in the team event, so we can anticipate their game,” added Janice.
On the other hand, Aldila assessed that today’s performance with Janice was much better than in the team round.Solid play and the courage to appear aggressive, especially at crucial points, were the keys to victory in the final.
“Our game today was better than in the team. We played solidly in important points and remained aggressive even though we were ahead. This is also part of the development of the Indonesian women’s tennis sector as a whole,” said Aldila.
Previously, Adila/Janice also took part in presenting gold in the women’s team event.In total, the Indonesian tennis team brought home three gold and five bronze medals.
