A resident of East Seram, Farid Rumadaul, confirmed the incident.According to him, the residents were forced to decide to carry Awan on foot to the health center, because the sea conditions were high.
Usually, he said, sick residents or pregnant women are transported by fishing boat to the health center.
“Yes, that’s right, the resident on the stretcher was named Awan, he was sick and had to be carried on a stretcher 15 kilometers or 6 hours to the puskesmas,” he said when confirmed.

, Sunday (14/12).
He said Awan had to be carried out of his village on a stretcher because there were no health workers there.
Awan suffered a broken arm when he fell on the slippery road after returning from the nutmeg plantation.Due to his injuries requiring medical assistance, Awan was forced to be carried out of his village on a stretcher to the community health center.
Residents carried Awan across steep mountainous terrain, over rocky roads, across rivers, and past the beach.
Residents who were part of the group took turns carrying Awan using bamboo sticks and a piece of cloth which is used to protect patients safely until they reach the health center.
During their journey, they passed two villages which were also classified as poor in terms of road infrastructure, namely Kilyuar Preparation Village and Adm Karlomin Village, only to arrive at Adm Ottadem Village.
“So from Kildor Village to Adm Ottadem Village it was a 3 hour journey before arriving, Adm Ottadem Village already has a road to the health center,” said Farid.
Then when they arrived at Adm Ottadem Village, the residents rented a pickup truck again.
From Adm Ottadem Village to the Tamher Timur Health Center which is located in the center of Kesui Watubela District, residents have to travel back for 3 hours.
“So the total journey is 6 hours, in detail, from Kildor Village to Adm Ottadem Village 3 hours, then from Adm Ottadem Village to the puskesmas also 3 hours,” said Farid.
He said that residents of Kildor Village hope that the Regent of Eastern Seram Regency, Fahri Husni Alkatiri, will immediately build a sub-district ring road so that residents who are classified as poor will no longer suffer.
