Attorney General’s Office
(AGO) revoked the preventive overseas status of the President Director
PT Djarum
, Victor Rachmat Hartono.
Previously, Victor was banned in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption in paying company taxes in the 2016-2020 period.
The Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Center, Anang Supriatna, explained that the ban was lifted because Victor was considered to be cooperative during the investigation process.

“It’s true, investigators have requested a retraction from the person concerned because according to investigators, the person concerned is cooperative,” said Anang, Saturday (29/11).
Previously, the AGO proposed to ban five people regarding alleged corruption in 2016-2020 tax payments.They are Victor Rachmat Hartono, Managing Director of PT Djarum, Ken Dwijugiasteadi, former Director General of Taxes, Karl Layman, young tax examiner of the Directorate General of Taxes, Ning Dijah Prananingrum, Head of KPP Madya Dua Semarang and Heru Budijanto Prabowo, tax consultant.
These five people were officially prevented from leaving the country starting Thursday (14/11) for the next six months or until (14/5/2026).
The ban was issued in conjunction with searches of a number of locations, including tax officials’ homes, in order to uncover alleged corruption in tax payments.
In his previous statement, Anang revealed that there were allegations of bribery practices between employees of the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance and taxpayers.
He said there was an agreement to reduce the company’s tax payment obligations in exchange for certain compensation to tax officials.
“There is compensation to reduce (tax payments). There is an agreement and there is a gift. It is a bribe, to reduce it with a specific goal,” said Anang.
PT Djarum stated that it respects all ongoing legal processes and is ready to follow the necessary investigation stages.
