On the Billboard 200, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack remains at No.3 for 25 consecutive weeks on the main album chart. This is a special achievement for K-pop soundtrack works on the world music charts.
A number of journalists from Billboard also discussed why the song Golden from KPop Demon Hunters was able to stay so strong at the top of the popular song charts from the United States and throughout the world.
So, what is the reason Golden KPop Demon Hunters can stay on the Billboard charts for so long?
“A combination of radio adoption and repeat airplay,” said Jason Lipshutz, Executive Director of Music at Billboard.”Golden has completely transcended the film to become a hit in its own right.”
“This helps broaden its appeal to Top 40 radio listeners who still don’t know KPop Demon Hunters and just want to listen to catchy K-pop songs,” he explained.
Meanwhile, said Lipshutz, the KPop film Demon Hunters also continues to be watched by children who then develop a desire to play the song Golden on streaming services.
“So it’s clear that KPop Demon Hunters is resonating as an animated musical on a global streaming service, potentially for months of cultural domination, much like successful Disney films have in the past,” Lipshutz said.
Stephen Daw, Pride Editor who is also a senior journalist

More or less the same opinion as Lipshutz. But for this award-winning music journalist, there is a musicality factor that makes Golden have a golden record.
There are two things at play here.First, the music on this soundtrack is very catchy,” said Daw. “The songs are arranged in a way that makes the listener want to listen to them again and again.”
“Especially the performances from Ejae, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna were able to satisfy people’s desires for melody,” he said.”But the other thing that I think really worked in the album’s favor was its own success.”
Daw gave an example of how he just watched KPop Demon Hunters after the film had been broadcast on Netflix for six weeks. He admitted that he was initially not interested in watching it, but the echo of Golden’s popularity ultimately made him afraid of missing out, aka FOMO.
“But after Golden continued to climb the charts and finally reached Number 1, I finally gave in and wanted to watch to see what cultural moment I was clearly missing, and it turns out I really enjoyed watching this film!”
“The more this unexpected hit song continues to dominate, the more people will continue to watch, which will only make this album and film even more successful,” said Stephen Daw.

Apart from the repeated screenings of this film and the song Golden on the radio, as well as the musical composition which makes people ‘addicted’, there are still other factors that help the echo of Golden really survive.
“Another thing that KPop Demon Hunters managed to emulate from K-pop: a strong and loyal fan base!”I don’t think word of mouth has completely died down,” said Abby Webster, Billboard’s Assistant Social Editor.
“Because I still receive messages from K-pop skeptics in my life who ended up watching this film out of curiosity. But the die-hard fans clearly enjoy rewatching them, whether they’re kids who’ve seen it more than fifty times or their families.”
