The National Police Reform Acceleration Commission claims to have received a proposal related to the case of accusations

Chairman of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission, Jimly Asshidiqie, said that the idea of mediation was proposed by political observer Faizal Assegaf during an audience at PTIK, Jakarta, Wednesday (19/11).
Jimly said that the mediation proposal was carried out by presenting Jokowi as the reporter and Roy Suryo Cs as the reportee.

“Mr Assegaf suggested, how can we not mediate? ‘Oh that’s good’, try asking first whether they want to mediate. Both Jokowi and his family and Roy Suryo et al want to mediate or not,” he said.
Jimly emphasized that Roy Suryo Cs’ suspect status would remain intact during the mediation.However, if you find common ground then the sentence can be dismissed with a resolution
restorative justice
.
“So the suspect’s status remains, but at mediation first, if for example there is a common ground, the criminal case may not be continued, but if it doesn’t work, then continue,” he added.
Nevertheless, Jimly emphasized that the National Police reform team is not a forum for completing the existing legal process.
This is because the reform team only took examples of existing cases to formulate policies to be applied to the National Police in the future.
“The case can be submitted, but we don’t handle it. So the case was made

to offer future reform policies,” he concluded.
