Prime Minister
Thailand

Cambodia
until there are no more threats to the White Elephant Country.

“There was no agreement whatsoever. It (the telephone conversation) was only an exchange of the latest information. I reiterate that regarding the conflict between the two countries, each party must act in self-defense. Thailand, for its part, must fully protect its sovereignty and people,” Anutin told reporters before leaving to lead a cremation ceremony for Thai soldiers who died in the war with Cambodia, as quoted.

Trump on Saturday called Anutin and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in the aftermath of the Cambodia-Thailand war which broke out again on Monday (8/12).
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that Anutin and Hun Manet agreed to stop the war starting Saturday night and would return to complying with the peace agreement signed last October.
Trump also said that the death of Thai soldiers on December 8, which sparked war between the two countries, was “an accident” that Thailand was taking too seriously.
Anutin has responded to Trump’s post in a statement on social media. He regretted Trump for having come to that conclusion.
“This is clearly not an accident. Thailand will continue to carry out military action until we feel there is no longer any danger and threat to our land and people. I want to make that clear. Our actions this morning say it all,” wrote Anutin, as quoted

Apart from Trump, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as chairman of ASEAN also called Anutin and Hun Manet.Anwar urged the two leaders to stop the war and immediately implement a ceasefire starting Saturday at 22.00 p.m.
Despite pressure from Anwar, Anutin refused to comply. He said Hun Manet should have proposed a ceasefire instead of Anwar Ibrahim because the parties at odds in this conflict were Thailand and Cambodia.
“If there is to be a genuine ceasefire, Cambodia should submit the proposal directly to Thailand, not ask the leaders of other countries to speak on its behalf. If one party wants to end the dispute, he said, the proposal must be submitted by one party to the other,” it was reported

War between Thailand and Cambodia broke out again on Monday (8/12) after Thailand claimed a soldier was killed in a shootout on the border.
Thailand deployed fighter jets to attack Cambodian military installations, to which Cambodia responded by firing BM-21 rockets, including at civilian settlements.
Thailand and Cambodia are currently in a ceasefire. However, both countries have long accused each other of violating the agreement brokered by Trump.
