Hundreds of residents along with TNI personnel echoed prayers as they crossed the Teupin Reudeup bailey bridge, Thursday (18/12), which had just been connected after weeks of being cut off due to flash floods in North Aceh.Rows of red and white flags were seen flying.
The prayer is part of the residents’ gratitude for the tireless efforts of all parties to be able to reconnect the bridge which is the lifeblood of transportation in a number of areas in Aceh.
The connection of the Teupin Reudeup bridge makes Southeast Aceh’s access to Gayo Lues, or vice versa, connected again.Likewise, Banda Aceh’s access to Central Aceh via Beutong Ateuh, Nagan Raya Regency is back to life.

“The bridge can be passed by four-wheeled vehicles at 17.03 WIB,” said Head of the Data and Information Center (Kapusdatin) of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Abdul Muhari, Thursday (18/12), in an official statement
The Regent of Bireuen, Mukhlis, led the completion stage of the bridge connection.Currently, bridge operations are being tested on a limited basis for vehicles, especially for logistics distribution.
This 39 meter long bridge was connected using materials from the Ministry of Public Works.The work was carried out by personnel from Combat Engineer Battalion 16/Dhika Anoraga.
“Technical work such as adjusting floor board bolts and installing stretch girders has been carried out. The bridge will immediately be put into operation to support smooth traffic and community activities,” said a written statement from the TNI Information Center (Puspen).
