Thailand
launched airstrikes on its borders with
Cambodia
amidst the latest tensions between the two countries, Monday (8/12).
In a statement, the White Elephant Country military said one Thai soldier was killed and four soldiers were injured in clashes that occurred around two areas in the eastern province of Ubon Ratchathani.

“[Therefore], the Thai side is now starting to use aircraft to attack military targets in several areas,” the Thai military said in a statement, as quoted

The Cambodian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) confirmed that the Thai military launched air strikes on two locations at dawn.The Ministry of Defense later added that Cambodian troops did not respond.
The Thailand-Cambodia border area has become hot again in the last few days.Military troops from both countries exchanged fire, killing one Thai soldier.
Thailand and Cambodia are currently in a ceasefire.However, both countries accused each other of violating an agreement brokered by United States President Donald Trump.
The first Thai-Cambodian war erupted last July for five days.Bangkok-Phnom Penh then signed a peace agreement in Kuala Lumpur in October after being urged by Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as chairman of ASEAN this year.
At least 48 people died and around 300,000 people were displaced as a result of the Thailand-Cambodia war in July.
