Lai Ching Te promised to carry out a full investigation following the bomb attack that killed three people at the metro station on Friday (19/12).
While visiting the hospital where the injured victims were being treated, Lai expressed deep sympathy and promised transparency during the investigation.

“I would like to express my condolences to those who tragically lost their lives in last night’s horrific and violent attack, and convey my sympathies to the families of the victims,” said Lai, as quoted by AFP Saturday (20/12).
He emphasized that he had ordered a full and thorough investigation, and would provide a full explanation to the public about the truth.
So far Taiwanese authorities have said the action was a “deliberate act”.However, the motive for the attack is not yet clear.
The attack killed three people and 11 others were injured.The perpetrator of the attack committed suicide after carrying out the action.
Public assaults are rare in Taiwan.The last time a similar incident occurred was in 2014 when a man carried out a knife attack at a metro station and killed four people.
