It is true and valid,”said Katib Syuriah PBNU Sarmidi Husna in a press conference at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (27/11).

In the latest circular, it is stated that Rais Aam has full control of PBNU amidst the vacancy of the general chairman.
The latest PBNU circular is stamped with the electronic signatures of Deputy Rais Aam Afifuddin Muhajir and Katib Ahmad Tajul Mafakhir, Number: 4785/PB.02/A.II.10.01/99/11/202, Concerning Follow-up to Decisions of the Syuriyah Daily Meeting, 20 November 2025.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Gus Yahya rejected the validity of the letter.Gus Yahya emphasized that his position as chairman could only be replaced through a conference mechanism.
“That letter (circular) is an invalid letter, because as can be seen, there is still a watermark with draft writing, so that means it is invalid, and if you scan the signature there, a statement will appear that the signature is invalid,” said Yahya at the PBNU Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (26/11).
