The following is a synopsis of Moon River.
Moon River tells the story of Crown Prince Lee Gang (Kang Tae-oh) who looks so wild, happy-go-lucky, and not serious about government affairs.
He showed this attitude after losing the people he loved, from his mother to his wife, Empress Kang Yeon-wol (Kim Se-jeong), due to power struggles within the Palace.

It all started with the machinations of Left State Councilor Kim Han-cheol (Jin Goo) who had the ambition to have royal power.
So, he really wants to have an heir by marrying his daughter, Kim Woo-hee (Hong Su-zu) to the Crown Prince.
Since then, Lee Gang has changed 180 degrees to cover his deep sense of loss and his plans for revenge.Until one day, he met someone who was very similar to his wife.
The woman is Park Dal-i (Kim Se-jeong) who is a very clever trader, has extraordinary speaking skills so that her merchandise always sells.
It turns out that Park Dal-i has lost her memory for the last five years since the drowning incident.Since then, his family has forbidden him from going to Hanyang on the grounds that they are ex-slaves who have escaped.
Lee Gang initially believed Park Dal-i was his wife, but he remembered that he himself confirmed the Empress’s body when she drowned five years ago.
