The story opens in 1937, when Lieutenant Commander Edwin Layton (Patrick Wilson) receives intelligence information from high-ranking Japanese soldier Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto (Etsushi Toyokawa).
Yamamoto said that Japan is dependent on oil because 80 percent of the country’s oil stocks are imported.He then said that Japan would have no choice but to go to war if the United States threatened its oil supplies.
The US actually stopped supplying Japan with oil.Japan responded to this by launching a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

This historic attack also forced the US to become involved in World War II.The country searches for a Japanese aircraft carrier by sending naval pilot Lieutenant Richard Best (Ed Skrein) with an air unit from the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.
However, Lieutenant Best’s efforts with other teams failed because the aircraft carrier fleet was not found when US troops explored the southern region.
On the other hand, Admiral Yamamoto proposed a bold plan to attack Midway Island in the North Pacific ocean.They wanted to launch an attack using four Japanese aircraft carriers named Kido Butai.
Layton discovered Yamamoto’s plan, who was working with his superior, Admiral Chester Nimitz (Woody Harrelson).
However, this fact is not easy for the White House to believe.In fact, the US risks suffering a major defeat in the Pacific if their steps are not calculated correctly.
This incident continued with various strategies adopted by the US to prove the truth of Japan’s threat.This series of events led to preparations for the Midway War which became important in world history.
