said the Government was relaxing the rules for using barcodes to purchase fuel at gas stations in the disaster areas of Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra.
“Distribution of fuel, then LPG must also continue. This morning we issued a relaxation of the rules that for people buying fuel, people buying fuel at gas stations do not need to use barcodes.”
“So it is free, both in North Sumatra, West Sumatra and in Aceh. This is all in our context of speeding up the service process to the community,” said Bahlil in an official statement in Pinangsori, Central Tapanuli, Tuesday (2/12).

This relaxation of the exemption from using barcodes to purchase subsidized fuel will be implemented until post-disaster conditions in Sumatra are declared to have recovered and residents’ activities return to normal.
Bahlil stated that fuel and LPG stocks in North Sumatra, West Sumatra and Aceh can actually still meet people’s needs, but landline access to gas stations is hampered.Therefore, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources together with PT Pertamina (Persero) diverted the fuel and LPG distribution route via sea and air.
“The mobilization is to reach areas that can be reached because roads are broken, bridges are broken, this is a problem we face together. But now we use methods, some use planes, some also use rafts. Like in Aceh, in Bireuen we assemble rafts. To load, get on,” said Bahlil.
Apart from limited access to fuel and LPG, access to electricity is also not optimal.Bahlil said that of the 19 Megawatts (MW) of electricity in Sibolga, only 7 MW could operate, because it used low network pressure.
“The electricity sector is also not yet optimal, because in Sibolga, out of 19 megawatts, only 7 have been running, because it uses low network pressure. So, I, together with the Managing Director of PLN and the Managing Director of Pertamina, are ensuring that it can recover quickly. We are using the maximum network,” said Bahlil.
Bahlil ensured that PT PLN could normalize electricity supply by using the maximum network.
