The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported the death toll

in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra reached 1,006 people as of Saturday (13/12).
“As of today, from our data, the general death toll from the recapitulation of 3 provinces shows 1,006 people,” said Head of the BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Data Center Abdul Muhari in a press conference broadcast on BNPB YouTube, Saturday (13/12).

Abdul Muhari detailed that Aceh experienced the most deaths, with a total of 415 people.Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, the death toll reached 349 people and in West Sumatra it reached 242 people.
“This change occurred in Aceh from 411 to 415 people who died. North Sumatra from 343 to 349 and West Sumatra from 241 to 242 people,” he said.
Meanwhile, the number of missing victims was recorded at 217 people, a decrease from the previous day which reached 226 people.
“After verifying the data based on dukcapil data and also identifying the bodies of the victims, there were several victims who were or had died but were buried in the cemetery area which was then affected by the landslide. We have identified these and removed them from the landslide victims,” ​​said Abdul Muhari.
Furthermore, the number of refugees is currently recorded at 654,642 people, a decrease of 199,508 people from December 12 when there were 884,889 people.
To handle logistics, the process of repairing national roads and bridges is still being carried out so that the distribution of aid is still based on air routes.
“Currently air routes are still dominant, we hope that early next week we will be able to optimize land routes which will automatically increase the tonnage of sorted aid deliveries,” he said.
