KAI Commuter VP Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda said that the operation of this special train service has a capacity of 73 seats.Every day there will be 7 trips from Merak and 7 trips from Rangkasbitung.

“In accordance with the current Merak Commuter Line schedule,” said Karina in a written statement on Monday (1/12).
User Terms and Conditions
To be able to enjoy this service, farmer and trader train users must come to the registration counter with an identity card and fill out a registration form to be verified by officers first to get a farmer and trader card.
“This registration can be done before the scheduled day of departure and when the farmer and trader train will travel,” said Karina.
By having a farmer and trader card, users will get convenience in using travel services, namely being able to order and purchase farmer and trader train tickets from day 7 of departure at the Merak Commuter Line station counters.
In addition, farmer and trader card holders can board or enter the waiting room area at the station two hours before their scheduled departure.
Furthermore, Karina also said, for other people who want to use this service and have not registered, they can still buy tickets for the farmer and trader train on the day of departure at the counter, provided that the travel ticket is still available.
KAI Commuter also enforces other rules in this farmer and trader train service, one of which is that the merchandise that can be carried is 2 koli or 2 carts, with maximum dimensions of 100 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm per koli.
“Baggage with strong odors, livestock and flammable items as well as sharp/fire weapons, are prohibited from being carried on farmers’ and traders’ trains,” Karina underlined.
Tariffs and Facilities Readiness
In line with this, Director of Railway Traffic and Transportation Arif Anwar said that DJKA is ready to fully support so that the operation of the Farmer and Trader Train can run optimally.Arif revealed that his party had prepared the disbursement of Public Service Obligation (PSO) funds to ensure that ticket prices for this service were affordable for the public.
“We instructed KAI Commuter through the PSO scheme to set the Farmer and Trader Train fare at IDR 3,000 like the Merak Commuter Line service fare so as not to burden the public,” stressed Arif.
The PSO is an incentive in the form of a subsidy from the Government through DJKA which is aimed at reducing train service rates so that they can be enjoyed by all levels of society at affordable prices.
Furthermore, Arif stated that the entire series of Farmer and Trader Trains had gone through testing stages to ensure the suitability of the facilities to be operated.
This is done to maintain the safety of train service users and minimize risks that may arise.
Testing is also carried out to ensure that the operation of the Farmer and Trader Train is carried out by paying attention to aspects of safety, security, reliability, comfort, convenience and equality in accordance with Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 63 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards.
