The coach of the Thai Futsal national team, Miguel Rodrigo, retired on a bitter note after being massacred

Rodrigo also regretted his failure in not being able to help Thailand win a gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games.
“Unfortunately, I couldn’t end it with a win to make everyone happy. However, in the last two years, we have reached the Asian Cup final and finished ninth in the world in the World Cup. So, I am very happy with this great achievement,” wrote Rodrigo on his Instagram account.
Regarding the decision to retire, the Spanish coach said it was for family reasons.Rodrigo coached Thailand in 2016 and 2017 then continued for a second period starting in 2024.
“The reason I left the world of professional futsal is very clear, namely that I have to return to Spain to start a new chapter in my life and take care of my family, which is primarily personal and family reasons, and this is the most important thing in my life at the moment,” said Rodrigo.
“I will no longer train professional teams, either clubs or national teams. My chapter is over,” Rodrigo added.
