who was on fire said that initially the small fire appeared to come from the electricity where the drone battery was charged.
The fire was tried to be extinguished but the sparks spread and caused an explosion.
“Yes, the fire seemed to be caused by electricity, (when) it was charging. It was a small fire. After that, we helped a lot of residents, local residents and employees too, office people used APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher),” said Rian to journalists at the Terra Drone Building, Wednesday (10/12).

“Incidentally, the office people have fire extinguishers too. They still can’t put it out. It seems like it immediately spread, exploded. It first sparked and then exploded, so the fire went straight up,” he continued.
During the incident, Rian also helped with the evacuation process with the Fire Department.He said 15 people managed to survive, but the rest could not be evacuated because the smoke was getting worse.
“So from there, 15 people had been evacuated by me, by the Fire Department too, I thought it was finished. Finally when I got to the bottom, there were still 21 there, he said, 21 people were trapped. Yes, yes, I thought ‘oh what’s going on, it won’t work’, right? Because how many hours had passed on the 3rd and 5th floors, the smoke was already really bad,” he said.
Rian also confirmed that there was a battery warehouse or flammable materials on the 1st floor of the building.
“Yes, there is a warehouse. There it is,” he said.
Regarding the smoke, Rian said the smell of smoke from the fire was very strong.He was even recommended to seek treatment due to the smoke smell.
“The smell is really strong. It’s really strong. If it was burning it would definitely smell like burning, but this is different,” he said.
“Until now, that’s why I was told to go to the pharmacy for treatment, I didn’t want to,” he continued.
Previously, a fire hit the Terra Drone Building located in Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta (Jakpus) on Tuesday (9/12) afternoon.This fire killed up to 22 people.
The fire is thought to have started from a drone battery that caught fire on the 1st floor of the building.
