The landslide that occurred due to high rainfall carried large soil, mud and stone materials that hit residents’ houses and blocked the road.A total of seven housing units were reported damaged, five of which were in Panggugunan Village.The other two houses are in Pulo Godang Village.
The Head of Panggugunan Village reported that 14 residents were affected, consisting of 6 survivors, 4 people who died, while four other people were still being searched for.

The search for victims was carried out by a joint team from the Humbahas Police and the Humbang Hasundutan Regency Government starting from Wednesday (26/11) at 07.30 WIB until 18.00 WIB.
One unit of heavy equipment has been deployed, while three ambulances from Humbahas Police, Matiti Community Health Center and Onan Ganjang Community Health Center have been alerted for medical treatment.
The Humbahas District Government Social Service also set up a public kitchen in the Sihasang field, Hamlet I Lumban Sihotang.The survivors have been referred to Doloksanggul Regional Hospital.Meanwhile, affected residents have temporarily evacuated to their family homes.The deceased have been handed over to the family for burial.
Humbahas Police Chief AKBP Arthur Sameaputty through Deputy Police Chief Commissioner Manson Nainggolan said that his party continues to maximize handling in the field.
“All joint personnel are working as hard as possible to speed up the process of searching and evacuating victims. Team safety remains a priority because weather conditions are still risky and the potential for further landslides is quite high,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of cross-agency coordination and citizen vigilance.Search operations will continue until all victims are found.
Landslide material that buried roads and residents’ houses for around 500 meters, combined with heavy rain and thick fog, made the evacuation process unsafe to continue.
“We urge the public to stay away from landslide-prone locations. Search operations will continue until all the victims are found,” he stressed.
