Rizki Juniansyah broke the world record with a total lift of 365kg, two kg heavier than the previous world record.Apart from that, Rizky also managed to sharpen the clean and jerk world record, from 204kg to 205kg.
Behind this success, Rizki admitted that it could not be separated from the coach’s strategy.The coach forbade Rizki from trying to break the record in the snatch.For information, the snatch record is 166kg belonging to Abdelrahman Younes.

This condition made Rizki take a weight of 160kg in the snatch which he could lift smoothly.Then Rizki was able to use all his strength in the clean and jerk which led him to break the world record.

“I’m quite moved, of course I’m proud, but I’m not just proud here, my goal is still the 2028 LA Olympics, my target there, this SEA Games is a step towards future championships so I can be even better.”
