SEA Games Badminton Results: Losing in Semifinals, Putri KW Wins Bronze

Indonesian women’s singles, Putri Kusuma Wardani, had to bury her hopes of advancing to the 2025 SEA Games final after being eliminated in the semifinals.
Putri KW lost to the Thai representative, Supanida Katethong, with a score of 18-21, 16-21 in the semifinal match which took place in Thailand, Saturday (13/12).
In the first game, Putri KW appeared quite convincing at the start of the match.He immediately took the lead with a score of 2-0, 4-2, 6-4, up to 8-4.

However, Supanida Katethong slowly recovered and was able to equalize the score at 8-8, 9-9 and 10-10 before closing the first game interval with a narrow lead of 11-10.
After the interval, Supanida continued to press and took the lead 13-10, 14-12, up to 16-13.Putri KW showed high fighting power by equalizing the score at 16-16.Unfortunately, Supanida’s consistency in the final points meant that Putri KW had to give up 18-21 in the first game.
Entering the second game, Putri KW opened the match again well and took a 2-0 and 3-2 lead.However, Supanida was again able to equalize the score at 6-6 before winning 8-7.Putri KW equalized the score at 10-10 and closed the second game interval with an 11-10 lead.
The battle became increasingly fierce after the interval.The two players chased each other for points and drew 13-13, 14-14, to 16-16.However, Supanida appeared calmer at crucial moments and managed to secure a 21-16 victory.
With this result, Putri Kusuma Wardani had to be satisfied with winning a bronze medal at the 2025 SEA Games.
