Russia
(FSB) accused the British and
Ukraine
trying to steal their advanced fighter jet MiG-31.
According to a report by Russian state media RIA Novosti, citing FSB information, they said they were trying to hijack a fighter jet and take it to the Black Sea region to be shot at.

However, the FSB confirmed that the plan had been foiled.
“[We] have uncovered and thwarted an operation carried out by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and its supervisors in the UK to steal Russian MiG-31 supersonic fighter jets, carrying Kinzhal hypersonic missiles,” the FSB was quoted as saying

Furthermore, the FSB said Ukraine was trying to recruit Russian pilots by promising US$3 million or around Rp. 50 billion and citizenship from a Western country.
In these allegations, Ukraine is also thought to be planning to fly the fighter jet to the NATO base in Constanta on the Black Sea.
“[There the plane will] be shot down,” according to the FSB.
The FSB also said the theft attempt was supported by Ukrainian and British intelligence agency M16.
In August 2023, the Ukrainian intelligence agency guided Maxim Kuminoz, a Russian helicopter pilot who defected to Ukraine after flying to that country.
The plane crew did not realize this and died while trying to escape.Then in February 2024, Kuminoz was found dead in Spain.
Efforts to persuade pilots and bring jets or planes into operation often occur in war to find the enemy’s weak points and dismantle the weapons they have.
Russia and Ukraine have been fighting since February 2022.The international community has repeatedly called for a ceasefire but until now this call has not materialized.
