Asian currencies vary.The Chinese yuan rose 0.08 percent, the Singapore dollar rose 0.11 percent, the Philippine peso weakened 0.02 percent, the Malaysian ringgit plus 0.18 percent, the South Korean won rose 0.30 percent, the Japanese yen rose 0.38 percent, and the Thai baht rose 0.26 percent.
In developed countries, exchange rate movements also vary.The British pound fell 0.04 percent, the European euro minus 0.06 percent, the Swiss franc fell 0.05 percent, the Canadian dollar rose 0.08 percent, the Australian dollar weakened 0.06 percent.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said the Rupiah closed lower against the US dollar, weighed down by concerns about the outlook for Bank Indonesia (BI) interest rates.
