Asian currencies vary.The Philippine peso rose 0.02 percent, the Singapore dollar minus 0.04 percent, the South Korean won minus 0.02 percent, and the Thai baht fell 0.07 percent, and the Japanese yen fell 0.22 percent.
Meanwhile, the main currencies of developed countries strengthened. The European euro rose 0.03 percent, the Swiss franc rose 0.04 percent, the Australian dollar rose 0.09 percent, and the Canadian dollar rose 0.04 percent.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said the rupiah closed quite strongly against the US dollar due to investors’ positive response to Bank Indonesia’s (BI) statement regarding the stability of the rupiah.
