After the Soeratin Cup, Ronny, along with other young players such as Tumsila, Sarman Panggabean, Tumsila, and Nobon, were promoted to the PSMS main team for the 1967 PSSI National Championship final.
The instincts of Yusuf Siregar and Ramli Yatim, the PSMS coaching duo, who called Ronny et al to Ayam Kinantan were not wrong.PSMS finally won the United title after defeating Persib.
It was during Ronny’s time at PSMS that sweet history was created.Together with Ronny, PSMS won the United League three times (1967, 1969 and 1971) and won the 1967 Aga Khan Gold Cup in Bangladesh.
PSMS also won the 1972 Soeharto Cup, then the 1972 and 1973 Marah Halim Cup, and also became the first Indonesian team to reach the semifinals of the 1970 AFC Champions Cup.
Ronny’s success story at PSMS also resulted in a call to the Indonesian National Team since 1967. Ronny immediately competed with the goalkeeper who was called up more often, Yudo Hadianto.
Together with the Red and White team, Ronny presented a number of titles, such as the 1968 King’s Cup (Thailand), the 1969 Merdeka Games (Malaysia), the 1972 Sukan Festival (Singapore), and the 1972 Djakarta Anniversary.
Ronny also almost brought Indonesia to qualify for the 1976 Olympics. Unfortunately, Indonesia’s progress was stopped by North Korea in a tense penalty shootout.
