The government and DPR agreed
recording device
in the process of examining suspects or defendants by police officers in the Draft Criminal Procedure Code (
RKUHAP
).
In a follow-up meeting to discuss the RKUHAP at Commission III of the DPR on Wednesday (12/11), this provision was contained in Article 31 paragraph 2. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Law and Law Edward Sharif Omar Hiariej or Eddy Hiariej.

Article 31 paragraph 2 reads, “the inspection as intended in paragraph 1 can be recorded using a surveillance camera during the inspection”.
Then paragraph 4 regulates the use of recordings for the purposes of defending suspects and defendants.
Deputy Minister of Law and Law Eddy Hiariej agreed to the proposed article.He considered that the use of recordings was necessary as a supervisor to provide justice for both investigators, reporters and those reported.
“The government agrees, sir, because with the use of surveillance cameras, it can be provided in a balanced manner to both the reporter and the reported party, sir,” said Eddy.
