is said to have agreed to sign maritime cooperation with
England
with a contract value of £4 billion or around 87 trillion.
Quoted from the British government’s official website, gov.uk, Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to officially announce this collaboration in a telephone call with President Prabowo Subianto at the G-20 Summit in South Africa, Saturday (22/11).
“And as one of our closest G20 partners, this strengthens our shared commitment to global stability and strengthens our shared national security,” Keir said in his statement.

Through cooperation which will be led by the British defense company, Babcock, it will be possible for the two countries to develop their respective maritime strengths.
For Indonesia, work is encouraged to increase the strength of the Indonesian Navy and more than a thousand fishing boats.The ships will be built in Indonesia using British shipbuilding experts.
Meanwhile for the UK, cooperation will support a thousand jobs.Most of the jobs are expected to be located at Babcock’s Rosyth shipyard.
“Babcock is proud to lead UK industry support for this international program which will advance important Indonesian naval and maritime programs,” said Babcock CEO, David Lockwood.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo, in his statement quoted from the official gov.uk website, said that the collaboration would mark a new chapter in cooperation between the two countries.
“This program marks a new chapter in Indonesia-UK bilateral relations. This collaboration will mutually stimulate our economies, create high-quality jobs, and most importantly, advance Indonesia’s shipbuilding and defense capabilities,” said Prabowo.
“Most importantly, this program will also empower local fishermen and our coastal communities by presenting significant new economic opportunities,” he added.
