The Indonesian government strongly condemns the mass shooting that occurred during the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah
at Bondi Beach
, Sydney, Australia, on Sunday (14/12).
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) conveyed this criticism in an official release today, Monday.

“The Government of the Republic of Indonesia strongly condemns the violent actions that occurred at Bondi Beach, Sydney, on December 14 2025, which resulted in fatalities and injuries,” said a release from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ release, the Indonesian government also expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, and also prayed for the victims who were injured.
“Indonesia expresses its sense of solidarity with the Government and people of Australia at this difficult time,” they continued.
The brutal shooting occurred during the Jewish Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach.Two armed men suddenly opened fire at the crowd.
Later, authorities identified the two perpetrators as father and son, namely Sajid Akram and Naveed Akram.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunfire lasted for 10 minutes.In the video circulating, residents appear to panic and run after hearing the shots.
As a result of this incident, 15 people died, including Sajid Akram, and dozens of people were injured.
This shooting also sparked attention and condemnation from the global community.Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese even called the action terrorism and anti-Semitism.
Likewise, the Australian Domestic Intelligence Agency (ASIO) has investigated one of the perpetrators of the shooting, Naveed Akram, and suspects he has strong ties to the terrorist cell of the Sydney branch of the ISIS group.
