“Indonesia welcomes the ratification of the UN Security Council Resolution regarding Gaza on November 17 2025, which aims to maintain the continuity of the ceasefire and ensure the distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza, Palestine,” said the release.
According to the government, the resolution also promotes conflict resolution and sustainable peace through strengthening the capacity of the Palestinian Authority, reconstruction assistance and peacekeeping by international stabilization forces with a UN mandate.
Indonesia, in the release, emphasized the importance of the involvement of all parties, especially the Palestinian Authority, in conflict resolution and the peace process as well as a clear UN mandate for peacekeeping forces.
“To realize a two-state solution in accordance with agreed international laws and parameters,” added the official statement.
Indonesia will also continue to support the rights of the Palestinian people to be independent and sovereign, including through strengthening capacity and humanitarian assistance.
In addition, Indonesia calls on all parties involved and the international community to support this peace process, in the name of humanity. This process is necessary to end the protracted conflict, fulfill the Palestinian people’s right to complete independence, and create lasting peace in the Middle East region.
The UN Security Council passed a resolution proposing the United States to form a Peace Council (BoP) in Gaza and deploy the International Stabilization Force (ISF).
In that vote, 13 UNSC member countries supported it, while China and Russia abstained.
One of the points in the resolution contains the formation of the BoP as a transitional government in Gaza which will be led by US President Donald Trump.
Through this resolution, the BoP has the authority to form an International Stabilization Force which can be deployed under the agency’s command.Countries ready to send troops will also consult with Egypt and Israel.
Although welcomed by the international community, the resolution drew criticism from Hamas and organizations that focus on human rights issues in Palestine.
Hamas said the US proposed resolution did not meet the demands, political rights and humanity of the Palestinian people. They also considered the resolution to encourage foreign control instead of creating peace.
Meanwhile, the Ramallah-based human rights organization, Al Haq, said the resolution increasingly weakens the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
“The proposal that the US be given the authority of the UN Security Council to establish itself as an Occupying Power in Palestine fundamentally violates the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and violates the UN Charter,” Al Haq said in a statement, quoted by Al Jazeera.
