Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin confirmed that the 13th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia
Ma’ruf Amin
has resigned as Chairman of the PKB Syuro Council.
Cak Imin said that Ma’ruf had resigned a long time ago and had conveyed the decision to him.Not only from the Syuro Council, Ma’ruf also resigned from the party structure.He said, Ma’ruf wanted to do uzlah or focus on worship.
“It’s been a long time, it’s true that he told the General Chair of PKB that he would be resigned: he would no longer carry out structural activities at either PKB or MUI and would continue to help PKB,” said Cak Imin when confirmed, Tuesday (23/12).

However, Cak Imin did not reveal further since when Ma’ruf resigned, including the figure of his current replacement.
Apart from PKB, Ma’ruf is also said to have resigned from the position of Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
The resignation letter was submitted directly to MUI General Chair Anwar Iskandar on November 28 2025, and was discussed by the MUI leadership today.
Head of the MUI Information and Communication Division, Masduki Baidlowi, today read KH Ma’ruf Amin’s resignation letter in front of the MUI leadership.
“The resignation was related to his (Ma’ruf Amin’s) advanced age. And he felt he had served too long at the MUI,” said Masduki as quoted by detikcom, Tuesday (23/12).
