Istanbul General Prosecutor’s Office issued arrest warrants for 37 people on Friday (7/11).They include Netanyahu;Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz;Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir;to Military Commander Eyal Zamir.

“Based on the evidence obtained, it has been established that officials of the State of Israel bear criminal responsibility for the systematic acts of ‘crimes against humanity’ and ‘genocide’ committed in Gaza, as well as for the acts committed against the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) fleet,” according to an official statement from the Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office,” was quoted as saying

Even though there is an arrest warrant, can Türkiye really arrest Netanyahu and his allies?
Netanyahu and other Israeli officials were charged with crimes against humanity under article 77 and genocide under article 76 of the Turkish Criminal Code.
In a statement, the prosecutor stated that Netanyahu and other officials could not be arrested because they were not currently in Türkiye.
Additionally, it is unlikely that Netanyahu or any other official will travel to Türkiye.Since the aggression, relations between Israel and Türkiye have been hot.
Türkiye has also cut economic ties with Israel and banned flights from the Zionist country from passing through its airspace, let alone stepping foot at the airport.
Foreign diplomats usually have legal immunity and cannot be arrested in a country.However, the head of the Istanbul Bar Association, Yasin Samli, emphasized that Türkiye could do it.
“War crimes and genocide are offenses that can be prosecuted locally, even against foreign nationals, and will not expire,” said Samli, quoted

Türkiye is also not a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which first issued an arrest warrant in November last year.
In the ICC letter, Netanyahu and the then Defense Minister were accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel launched aggression against Palestine in October 2023. As a result, more than 68,000 residents in Palestine were killed and millions of people were forced to become refugees.
The Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office also included the incident of the Israeli troops’ brutal shooting of Hind Rajab who was hit by up to 335 bullets on January 29, 2004.
