) Mohammad Nuh said the agenda for the plenary meeting planned for Tuesday (9/12) would still be held.
He stated that his party respected the suggestions and advice conveyed by Mustasyar PBNU during the gathering at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Saturday (6/12).One of Mustasyar’s suggestions was that the agenda for the plenary meeting to determine the Acting Ketum not be held.
“We still respect the suggestions and input from those present, both online and offline. We pay attention to suggestions and input, but decision making must still go through organizational mechanisms. For this reason, the plenary meeting will continue to be held as planned,” said Nuh in a written statement, Sunday (7/12).

He explained that according to his duties, Mustasyar could indeed provide direction, consideration and/or advice to NU administrators according to their level.
This, he said, is the mandate of Article 17 of the Articles of Association and Article 57 of the NU Bylaws
However, Nuh said the decision-making process must still be carried out through an organizational mechanism, namely a plenary meeting.
PBNU Chairman for Education, Law and Media, Mukri, stated that the agenda for next week’s plenary meeting is completely legal and in accordance with applicable regulations.
“Including the administrative issues that are being debated, we fully guarantee that the Invitation/Notice of the Plenary Meeting is in accordance with all applicable provisions within NU,” said Mukri.
Regarding the invitation to the Plenary Meeting which was only signed by Rais Aam and Katib PBNU, without the signature of the Tanfidziyah element, Mukri answered that the forum was indeed Syuriyah’s authority.
According to him, Rais Aam is the Chair of the PBNU Plenary Meeting, just as Rais PWNU/PCNU is also the Chair of the Plenary Meeting at their respective management levels.

Previously, elderly kiai who were members of the Nahdlatul Ulama Elders & Mustasyar Forum held another meeting to discuss the internal conflict of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU).This time the location was at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, East Java, Saturday (6/12).
Through the forum spokesperson, who is also the spokesperson for the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, KH Oing Abdul Muid or Gus Muid, the senior NU kiai admitted that they had discovered serious violations allegedly committed by PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf.
“The forum also saw that there was strong information about serious violations or errors in decision making by the General Chair, which needed to be clarified through a comprehensive organizational mechanism,” read one of the forum’s conclusions, when delivered by Gus Muid, Saturday evening.
However, said Gus Muid, the Nahdlatul Ulama Elders & Mustasyar Forum is also of the view that the process of impeaching Gus Yahya as General Chair is not in accordance with organizational rules as stipulated in the AD/ART.
The forum recommended that the plenary meeting to determine the Acting General Chairperson not be held.
“The Forum recommends that the Plenary Meeting to appoint the PJ [General Chair] not be held before all procedures and deliberations are completed in accordance with organizational regulations,” he said.
Finally, said Gus Muid, the Elders Forum invites all parties to exercise restraint, maintain organizational order, and avoid steps that have the potential to increase tensions.
“The Forum emphasizes that this issue should be resolved through NU’s internal mechanisms, without involving external institutions or processes, in order to maintain the authority of Jam’iyyah and maintain NU as a great national asset,” he said.
