) will no longer serve as General Chair of PBNU since November 26 2025 at 00.45 WIB.
This means, according to Miftachul, Gus Yahya no longer has the authority or right to use the attributes of General Chair.
This was conveyed by Miftachul after the PBNU Rais Aam meeting with the PBNU Syuriah and 36 PWNU which was held at the East Java PWNU office, Surabaya, Saturday (29/11).

“As of November 26 2025 at 00.45 WIB, KH Yahya Cholil Staquf will no longer have the status of General Chair of PBNU. Since then, the leadership of PBNU is completely in the hands of Rais Aam,” he stressed.
Miftachul confirmed that PBNU’s Syariah decision was final.He added that using attributes or making decisions in the name of the General Chairperson no longer has legitimacy.
Miftachul also said this after Yahya Cholil Staquf removed Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul as PBNU Secretary General, based on the Tanfidziyah Daily Meeting which was held at the PBNU office, Kramat Raya, Jakarta, Friday (28/11).
“So he has no right to use the attributes and does not have the authority as general chairman of PBNU,”
Rais Aam emphasized that the minutes of the PBNU Syariah Daily Meeting which was the background to the removal of Gus Yahya had been prepared based on real data and conditions.
“There are no other motives other than those written in the minutes of the meeting. Everything is in accordance with the facts,” he said.
To ensure that the wheels of the organization run normally, PBNU will immediately hold a Plenary Meeting or Congress in the near future.
“To ensure the normal running of the organization, we will hold a plenary meeting or congress immediately. Yes, immediately,” he said.
Miftachul pays special attention to the dynamics of public opinion and information circulating in mainstream media and social media.
“To obtain the validity of the information, a Fact Finding Team will be formed which will work holistically and in depth,” he said.
Deputy Rais Aam KH Anwar Iskandar and KH Afifuddin Muhajir were appointed as TPF directors.
In order for the TPF to work optimally, Rais Aam emphasized that the implementation of the PBNU Level Digdaya for Letters was suspended until the investigation process was complete.Meanwhile, implementation at the PWNU and PCNU levels continues to run normally.
Rais Aam again reminded all NU members about the values of Khittah Nahdlatul Ulama.
“All parties must prioritize common interests, maintain noble morals, and uphold honesty in thinking, behaving and acting,” he said.
As an internal step, Rais Aam also invited all NU congregations to increase their prayers.
“Let us pray to Allah SWT to give us the best and most beneficial solution for Jam’iyah Nahdlatul Ulama,” he concluded.
