The heavy rain that fell on the city of Bandung on Friday (5/12) afternoon caused landslides and a house collapsed.Four residents of the house suffered injuries and have received medical treatment.
Head of Bandung City BPBD Emergency Section, Robby Darwan, said that the collapsed house was in Gang Curug Cigai, RT 04 RW 06, Isola Village, Cidadap District.

According to him, the house collapsed at around 17.30 WIB.It is thought that the soil under the house’s foundation was eroded by rainwater, causing the building to lose its support and collapse.
“The house collapsed due to high intensity rain which resulted in the soil supporting the house being eroded and the foundation not being strong enough,” said Robby when confirmed, Friday (5/12).
BPBD received the incident report at 18.00 WIB, then immediately dispatched a team to the location.Officers arrived at around 19.10 WIB and immediately carried out an assessment and emergency treatment together with regional officials.
In this incident there were no casualties.However, four residents of the house were injured.
They are Ratih, Rava, Renal, and Revan.The four have been evacuated and taken to Adventist Hospital to receive further help.The victims have now also fled to safer places.
Robby said the condition of the house was now badly damaged and was still in a state of collapse.Officers appealed to residents passing around the location to be careful and residents living near the incident point were advised to evacuate temporarily.
“Immediate action needs to be taken to clean the materials and repair the house, either independently or by the relevant agencies,” said Robby.
As of Friday evening, officers were still monitoring the location to anticipate further ground movement and ensure the safety of local residents.
