) 2025 will not exceed the 3 percent limit.
Purbaya continues to encourage the Indonesian economy to continue to grow in the fourth quarter of 2025. However, he ensures that this encouragement will not result in a deficit in the APBN.
“The deficit is still safely below 3 percent, you don’t need to be afraid that I will violate the principle of prudent fiscal management,” said Purbaya in Jakarta, Sunday (16/11).

As of September 30 2025, the APBN deficit reached IDR 371.5 trillion or 1.56 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).The government has set the deficit in the 2025 APBN at IDR 662 trillion or 2.78 percent of GDP.
For next year, the government has set the 2026 APBN deficit at 2.68 percent.
On that occasion, Purbaya said that the current policies taken by the government would not result in a deficit in the APBN.He gave the example of shifting IDR 200 trillion in government money from Bank Indonesia (BI) to five Himbara banks.
“I paid IDR 200 trillion to the bank, there was no new money, the money was just transferred to the bank, it still belongs to me (the government),” he said.
Purbaya said that Indonesia’s economy had improved in recent times.He said the economy would grow 5.6-5.7 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025. He was also optimistic that Indonesia’s economic growth would reach 6 percent next year.
