New tree planting around HCVs and ecological corridors is carried out to maintain connectivity and prevent landscape fragmentation.

“Every tree planted is not just a symbol of commitment, but an ecological investment for future generations,” said Jatmiko in his statement Sunday (30/12).
Therefore, he emphasized that the planting program will continue to be expanded according to PalmCo’s sustainable landscape roadmap.
PTPN IV PalmCo as a Subholding of PTPN III (Persero) has massively planted tens of thousands of tree seedlings in 12 provinces as an effort to reduce environmental degradation and restore critical areas throughout the company’s operational areas.
“In efforts to reduce environmental degradation and restore critical areas, PTPN IV PalmCo continues to be strengthened. In the last two years, PalmCo has planted more than 26 thousand trees in 12 provinces,” he said.
The 12 provinces include Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, Lampung, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan.
“Planting is carried out in riparian areas, forests, beaches and areas prone to erosion to strengthen the ecological function of various landscapes,” he said.
Most recently, said Jatmiko, the state plantation company held an action to plant tens of thousands of trees simultaneously in various operational areas on November 28 2025.
This step is part of the company’s sustainability strategy as well as a response to hydrological disasters which have recently hit a number of regions, especially in Sumatra.
He stated that tree planting is one of the main pillars in sustainable landscape management.According to him, efforts to strengthen vegetation cover not only have an impact on environmental quality, but also increase the region’s ability to minimize the risk of floods and landslides.
Jatmiko also expressed concern about the floods that hit several districts in Sumatra in recent weeks.
According to him, this series of events is a reminder of the importance of maintaining ecosystem balance and restoring critical areas.
“PTPN IV PalmCo conveys its concerns to the affected communities. Land rehabilitation and conservation are the foundations for a resilient plantation landscape,” he said again.
