PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) IV lent land to be used to build temporary shelter for flood disaster evacuees in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra.
Various assistance was also provided by this plantation BUMN, especially in the Tapsel area, to ease the burden on flood victims.

, PTPN IV assistance was agreed upon in a coordination meeting between the Tapsel Regency Government and PTPN IV, Wednesday (10/12).

In Tapsel itself, 14 of the 15 sub-districts were affected by flooding which caused serious damage.Infrastructure and residential areas up to 5,000 hectares of agricultural land have been damaged and are threatened with crop failure.
The meeting was chaired directly by South Tapanuli Regent Gus Irawan Pasaribu and Deputy Regent J a’far Syahbuddin Ritonga and attended by PTPN IV Regional I management.
Temporary shelter for flood evacuees will be built on land owned by PTPN IV in Hapesong Village, Tandihat Village and Batu Godang Village.
This land use uses a loan-to-use mechanism for a specific purpose.The construction itself will be carried out by BNPB.
Apart from that, PTPN also allows a corn crop intercropping scheme on replanting land to help farmers whose rice fields were damaged by flooding.
The 24 hectare land that was originally managed by the Batangtoru Police will also be transferred to management of a farmer group whose members were affected by the flood.
To handle this emergency period, PTPN IV also helped deploy 6 units of heavy equipment consisting of excavators, roadgreaders and bechoemini and helped ensure logistical assistance reached the refugee camps.
