Eco Cycle is implemented to ensure that all PTPN Group industrial waste is utilized in the circular economy program.
Denaldy added that PTPN III did not do it alone but together with Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE).
“PTPN III and PNRE have and will continue to work together to optimize the use of other NRE such as the Biodiesel development program to support the government’s B50 program, the Bioethanol development program and the development of Bioavtur (SAF),” he said in an official statement some time ago.
Apart from that, PTPN also made a commitment through the development of a 3 MW Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (KEK), North Sumatra.
This project was realized through a New Renewable Energy Development Cooperation Agreement.
PTPN III (Persero) Nusantara Plantation Holding Business Director Ryanto Wisnuardhy added that this 3 MW capacity PLTS has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by 4,100 tonnes of CO₂e per year, or the equivalent of 102,500 tonnes of CO₂ over the 25 year period of cooperation.
This not only contributes to achieving the national decarbonization target, but also opens up opportunities for added value through the carbon trading scheme on the Indonesian Carbon Exchange (IDX Carbon).
With estimated production reaching 103 thousand MWh over 25 years, this PLTS is expected to be able to guarantee a sustainable supply of green energy to tenants in the Sei Mangkei SEZ.
In this case, PTPN III as the holder of Land Management Rights (HPL) and Electricity Business Area (Wilus) in the Sei Mangkei KEK plays a central role in supporting green economic projects and development.
Ryanto emphasized that the development of EBT will continue to be PTPN Group’s strategic agenda.
Apart from PLTS, PTPN is currently also developing other NRE projects through strategic partnerships, such as the construction of a biodiesel factory in the Sei Mangkei SEZ, the development of Compressed Biomethane Gas (CBG) from liquid palm oil waste (POME), the construction of a bioethanol factory in Glenmore, East Java, and the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) or Bioavtur project in the Sei Mangkei SEZ.
