“There’s the Netherlands. Don’t ask people, okay? Liverpool’s the club, boss. Oh, no. Don’t ask people, that’s why,” said Amali when asked whether the Dutch coach was coaching Liverpool.
To find the right coach for the Indonesian National Team, PSSI sent Sumardji to Europe.PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) members will accompany Alexander Zwiers, PSSI Technical Director.
“I don’t know what the technicalities [are like]. Pak Mardji [who knows more about the technicalities] is what it’s like. But someone asked me earlier [from the Netherlands], yes, that’s one of those countries,” he said.
One of the Dutch coaches whose name is being linked as a potential coach for the Indonesian National Team is Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Currently, this Maluku-blooded man is Liverpool’s assistant coach.Even though he is still under contract, there is potential for Van Bronckhorst to accept Indonesia’s proposal.
Apart from Van Bronckhorst, there are four other coaches who are also said to be potential coaches for the Indonesian National Team. They are Jesus Casas, Timur Kapadze, and Heimir Hallgrimsson.
